Mist reduction in today's EW tankhouse is an important issue for a variety of reasons. Establishing a safety first mentality within the industry has become increasingly evident. The Sunwest brush system has been developed to prevent toxic emissions that can prove harmful to individuals who are constantly exposed in these facilities. By creating a barrier between a cell's solution line, the Sunwest brush is able to filter corrosive acid and allow cleansed air to rise into the atmosphere. These agents attach to the brushes bristles and are later returned into the tank after time, and during normal cleaning procedures. By devising a system that is geared toward health concerns, we have also provided benefits that promote better productivity and increased cost savings. Through testing, we have experienced increased electrical efficiency by maintaining higher temperatures within cells where our brush systems are installed. Moreover, products now used to suppress mist such as mist balls, blankets, and the chemical FC 1100 can be used at lower levels or eliminated.
